Ravana is an incredible enthusiast of Lord Shiva. Yet, one day he attempts to pull down the residence of Lord Shiva, the mount Kailash. 

In spite of the fact that he falls flat in his endeavor, this demonstration rankles Shiva and he traps Ravana underneath the mount Kailash. 

At that point, Ravana begins singing tunes in commendation of Shiva. He slices one of his heads to make a veena (an Indian instrument) and uses the ligaments as strings to play music. 

This continues for quite a long while before Shiva is intrigued. He pardons Ravana and liberates him.
