Meera, a Rajput princess was conceived in Kudki (Kukari), a little town close Merta City which is by and by in the Nagaur area of Rajasthan in northwest India. Her dad, Ratan Singh, was the most youthful child of Rao Duda leader of Merta, and had a place with the Rathore group. Rao Duda was the child of Rao Jodha ruler and author of Mandore.

As a kid Meera turned out to be profoundly captivated by a sculpture of Giridhar Gopal (Cow-group holding up a mountain), Lord Krishna, claimed by a heavenly man; she was miserable until she had it and kept it for her entire life.

A few fantasies state that Meera saw a wedding parade of a spouse and got some information about her better half, at that point her mom took her before the god Lord Krishna and disclosed to her that He was her significant other. Then she was around seven years of age. She was exceptionally affected by her dad as he was an admirer of Krishna.

Meera's mom, Veer Kumari, kicked the bucket when Meera was around seven. Meera was then sent to her granddad, Rao Duda, and father's a more established sibling, Rao Viram Dev at Merta. It is here that she got her education.

Her uncle, Rao Viram Dev masterminded Meera's marriage, in 1516 when she was thirteen, with ruler Bhoj Raj, the child of Rana Sanga of Chittor.

She was not content with her marriage as she viewed herself as effectively wedded to Krishna. She went to live in Chittor joined by her youth mate, Mithula, who remained with Meera till the end. Her new family didn't endorse her devotion and dedication when she wouldn't venerate their family god Tulaja Bhawani (Goddess Durga).
