In 1842, Manikarna got hitched to the Maharaja of Jhansi and after her marriage, she came to be known as Rani Lakshmibai. 1851, Lakshmibai turned into a mother after the introduction of her child. In any case, she lost her child following four months. The illustrious couple in the long run embraced Maharaja's cousin's child and named him Damodar Rao. The selection, truth be told, occurred before a British authority.

Lakshmibai's marriage was fleeting as the Maharaja kicked the bucket of a sickness in the year 1853. This was the second that changed her life until the end of time.

The then Governor-General Lord Dalhousie, exploiting the Maharaja's demise, applied the Doctrine of Lapse. As per this teaching, a lord's received kid was not qualified for the seat. While the received offspring of the Maharaja could acquire his private property, he would not be treated as a beneficiary since they didn't share a blood connection.
