The present Dakor owes its raison d'etre not to Dank Rishi however to Bodana, an extraordinary lover of Lord Krishna. In his past birth, he should have lived in Gokul and been a cowherd called Vijayanand. On one 'Blessed' day, all the cowherds aside from Vijyanand revered Lord Krishna. His better half too venerated Lord Krishna. Be that as it may, Vijayanand was glad and remained at home. Master Krishna went to his home in camouflage of his companion and sent him to perform 'Holi' puja. Returning, he understood that his companion was none else except for Lord Krishna.

Following day they faced a conflict of shading. Master Krishna lost and fell into the waterway. Vijyanand followed him where Lord Krishna uncovered his actual self. Vijyanand asked absolution. Master Krishna had compassion for him and comforted him with a shelter that he would be conceived in Gujarat again in Kaliyug following 4200 years as Vijayanand Bodana in the place of a Krishatriya and his current spouse Sudha would again be his significant other, called Gangabai, when he will give them an impression (darshna) and ease them by offering them liberation (Moksha).

So as the legend would have it, 'Vijayanand Bodana', a rajput of Dakor, turns into a steadfast aficionado of Lord Krishna. He used to allow the basil to plant (Tulsi) develop in an earthen pot with him on his palm and used to go like clockwork to Dwarika to revere Lord Krishna with the said Tulsi leaves. He did this ceaselessly, unfailingly and untiringly till he was 72 years he at that point started to discover it progressively hard to seek after this custom. Seeing his situation, Lord Krishna disclosed to him that on his following visit to Dwarika, he ought to carry a bullock-truck with him and Lord Krishna would go with him to Dakor as he was extremely satisfied with his dedication.

Appropriately, Bodana went with bullock-truck to Dwarika. Hindu Vaghers who were the first genetic ministers of Dwarika took care of over the sanctuary to gugli Brahmins because of their guilty pleasure in battling opportunity wars against British domain. So these second cleric clan of Dwarika (Gugli Brahmins) asked bodana for what good reason he had carried a truck with him. Whereupon, Bodana answered that he had done as such to remove Lord Krishna. Looking to the rickety truck, they didn't trust him however in any case bolted and fixed the sanctum sanctorum of Dwarika Temple for the evening.

At 12 PM, Lord Krishna tore open all the entryways, stirred Bodana and advised him to take him to Dakor. In the blink of an eye a short time later, Lord Krishna called upon Bodana to rest in the bullock-truck and drove the truck himself till arrived at the region of Dakor. Here (close Bileshwar Mahadev on Dakor-Nadiad street) they rested for quite a while, contacting and holding a part of neem tree. He woke up Bodana and requested that he dominate. Since that day, this neem tree is found to have one sweet branch however the remainder of the branches are harsh and it shapes the subject of a notable Gujarati tune (bhajan). In Dwarika, the Gugli Brahmins finding the picture missing pursued Bodana and came to Dakor in interest.

Bodana was terrified yet Lord Krishna instructed him to conceal the icon of the god in the Gomti tank and meet the Guglis. As needs be, Bodana concealed the icon and went to meet the Guglis with a pot of curd to assuage them. They lost control and one of them tossed a lance at him. He tumbled down dead While harming Bodana with a lance it additionally hurt the picture of the god covered up in Gomti tank and the water turned red with Lord Krishna's (Ranchhodraiji's) blood. It is said that even today the earth of Gomti tank where the picture lay is red while rest of the tank is of earthy colored mud.

Amidst Gomti tank, over where Lord Krishna was covered up, a little sanctuary having the Lord's impressions is built and this sanctuary is connected with the bank of Gomti Tank by a scaffold. Indeed, even with the demise of Bodana, the Guglis were not conciliated. Mentioning Lord Krishna to re-visitation of Dwarika, they sat on the bank of Gomti tank and went on an appetite strike. Finally, Lord Ranchhodraiji (Krishna) coordinated Gangabai, spouse of Bodana, to give gold likeness his weight and request that the Guglis re-visitation of Dwarika.

Helpless woman, the widow of Bodana, was a homeless person and couldn't bear to do as such. By a marvel, the icon became as light as a brilliant nose-ring (1, 1/4 val i.e.1/2 gram in weight) which was such the widow of Bodana Gangabai had. The Guglis were frustrated yet the Lord tolerantly coordinated that they would discover following a half year an accurate reproduction of the icon in Savitri Vav at Dwarika. The restless Guglis searched for the symbol at some point sooner than they were told and therefore, found an icon which, however like the first one, was littler, Pilgrims to Dakor still visit the spots expressed to have been related with the legend viz.

Where the part of neem tree under which Lord rested while coming to Dankpur accordingly turned sweet; where the icon was covered up in the Gomti tank; whereon the equalization was set up to gauge the first symbol which Bodana had cherished.
